Short Bio
I'm following my love for Information Visualization through a PhD in Informatics at the Department of Informatics of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), where I work with Profª Simone Barbosa. I am a member of the R&D Labs ExACTa and IDEIAS-SERG. My research interests lie in human–data interaction, with a focus on integrating techniques and methods from data visualization, data science, and human–computer interaction.
I am gaining further experience as Professor of full-stack development as part of Software Engineering digital specialization at Central Extension Coordination (CCE) of PUC-Rio.
In industry, I've worked as web developer, data scientist, and consultant. I have worked on projects for multiple clients across industries (Oil and Gas, Digital Transformation, Legal).
I also love to travel, garden, practice yoga, take long walks with my dog, and discover new cafés.
Education
Expertise
Visualization & Data Science
I create interactive data visualization systems that help people explore, understand, and communicate data. I design effective and accessible solutions guided by a user-centered approach and grounded in visualization research.
Mixed-Methods Research
I collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on research projects, and have published in leading visualization and human-computer interaction venues (IHC, INTERACT). My work combines a variety of methods, including rapid prototyping, visual data inspection, interviews, surveys, usability testing.
Coding & Web Development
I use JavaScript, Vega, and D3 to develop data visualization tools. I build reactive web applications with React, work with data in Python, and develop back-ends using Flask and Django.
Teaching & Mentoring
I teach full-stack web development and give guest lectures on data visualization. Over the past several years, I've also tutored students in full-stack development and API integration.
