Dr. Thibaut Vidal is an Associate Professor at PUC-Rio and his area of expertise is Optimization and Automated Reasoning. In this area, he focuses his research on combinatorial optimization, metaheuristics, local search, integer and dynamic programming, with applications in logistics, supply chain management, production, telecommunications and emergency management. He earned his bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the École Nationale Supérieure

d'Informatique et de Mathematique Appliqués (ENSIMAG, France) (2007), his master's degree in Operations Research and Combinatorial Optimization from the Université Joseph Fourier (UJF, France) (2009), and his doctorate in Computers Science and Operations Research from the Université de Montreal (UseM, Canada) (2012). He also did three post-doctoral fellowships at the Universität Wien, UNIVIE, Austria (2013), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT, United States (2014) and PUC-Rio in 2015.
